I don't really root for the Irish as hard as I once did. But growing up Catholic in Chicagoland, Notre Dame helped lay the foundation for the life I have today.
Pony I grew up a catholic in Lake Oswego Oregon. Frank Leahy was a member of our Parrish. I always thought that was so cool. We also got all the Irish radio broadcasts out of a station in Portland. All my friends and even my brothers hated the dormers. I always had a ND hat to wear on gameday!
Hi Chris, I grew up a Michigan state fan because my older brother went there to college. Then I married a diehard Notre Dame fan and converted. So I guess that makes me a born again Notre Dame fan. It’s a lot more fun. My grandson is a sophomore at Notre Dame. We are all going as a family to the Notre Dame versus Stanford football game in October. I can hardly wait.
I listen to Full Ride every morning and enjoy the bantering between you and Rick. Keep up the great work.
Pony, I was born a decade + before you in New Jersey- and back when I first watched college ball, College games were most regional. ABC had 5 games a week at same time and regionalized coverage. Penn State was on a few times a year in NJ. The single one team that had national coverage was Notre Dame - so grew up following Penn State and Notre Dame.
