I have spent more than 20 years talking into a microphone for a living.
Along the way, I have hosted national radio shows, interviewed some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment, filled in for legendary broadcasters and built Show Pony Media from scratch.
But none of it started with some magical break.
It started with a kid who desperately wanted to do this—and needed someone to show him how.
That is why I created Show Pony University.
The next four-week class begins tonight at 8 p.m. ET, and if you have ever wanted to start a podcast, pursue sports radio, improve your existing show or simply become a more confident communicator, I would love to have you join us.
You do not need a fancy studio.
You do not need thousands of followers.
You do not need to already know what you’re doing.
You just need an idea, a desire to improve and a willingness to put yourself out there.
Over four live classes, I will teach you the practical lessons I have learned during more than two decades in broadcasting:
Week 1: Building Your Topic Tree
How to develop ideas, organize a show and never sit in front of a microphone wondering what to say.
Week 2: The Art of the Interview
How to prepare, ask better questions, listen in the moment and create conversations people actually want to hear.
Week 3: Teases, Hooks and Holding an Audience
How to earn someone’s attention immediately—and keep it.
Week 4: Finding Your Voice and Building Your Brand
How to stop sounding like everybody else and become someone an audience remembers.
This is not a prerecorded course that you purchase and forget about.
We meet live. You can ask questions. We can talk about your specific goals, your show and the obstacles standing in your way. I want this to be practical, personal and immediately useful.
And because this month’s group is going to be especially small, the people who join will receive even more direct access and individual attention from me.
Past students have launched shows, strengthened their on-air work, earned new opportunities and developed the confidence to finally bet on themselves.
One student, Mike Chaudron, has already turned what he learned into tremendous momentum—including appearances with Paul Finebaum. Kayvon Ezami told me he learned more during our four weeks together than he had in school or during his time in the industry.
That is what I want for you.
Maybe you have been thinking about doing this for months. Maybe you already own the microphone. Maybe you have a notes app filled with ideas but keep telling yourself you will begin “eventually.”
Eventually can be tonight.
Class begins at 8 p.m. ET, and registration is open now.
The complete four-week course is $399.
